On the controllability of PDEs with degenerate forces

In this talk, I will begin with a brief introduction to the control theory of partial differential equations, followed by an overview of some recent developments in the field. The focus will be on PDEs with degenerate control forces, namely forces that act only on a finite-dimensional subspace of the state space and/or are localized in a small region of the spatial domain.
